Measuring Curriculum Alignment across Topical Coverage, Competency, and Cognitive Depth: A Longitudinal Framework Applied to CS2013 and CS2023
The article presents a human-in-the-loop pipeline designed to measure curriculum alignment in undergraduate computer science programs against the CS2013 and CS2023 guidelines. It utilizes structured corpora for semantic retrieval and human validation, achieving a coverage of 49.7% for CS2023 and 50.9% for CS2013, with a reciprocal-rank-fusion ensemble outperforming individual retrievers. This framework not only highlights persistent gaps in curriculum content but also identifies shifts in competency articulation and cognitive depth, making it a valuable tool for programs seeking to align with evolving educational standards.
