Using the YOLOv12 Model for Verifying the Correct Color Sequence of Wires in Network Cables (Patch Cords) on the Production Line
The study introduces an intelligent inspection system utilizing the YOLOv12 object detection model to verify the correct color sequence of wires in network patch cords during production. The model, trained on a dataset of 2,500 microscopic images, achieved approximately 98% precision and an overall mean accuracy of 95%, significantly improving inspection efficiency by minimizing human error. This advancement is crucial for practitioners as it automates quality control in manufacturing, enhancing product reliability and reducing costs associated with defective cables.
