ED3R: Energy-Aware Distributed Disaster Detection Enabled by Cooperative Robotic Agents
ED3R is a newly introduced energy-aware distributed framework designed for wildfire detection, focusing on cooperative decision-making between robotic agents and a remote controller. The framework features distributed neural regression models that enhance predictive capabilities, allowing robots to evaluate strategies before execution, while achieving a mission success rate of up to 97.18%. Notably, ED3R reduces energy consumption by up to 36.4% and accelerates wildfire detection by up to 41% compared to baseline methods, making it a significant advancement for practitioners in robotics and environmental monitoring.
