Anatomically Consistent TMJ Disc Segmentation via Semantic Anchoring and Clinical Priors
The article presents TISC, a novel TMJ disc segmentation framework that enhances MRI analysis for accurate diagnosis of internal derangement. It employs a Prototypical Semantic Anchoring (PSA) module for robust disc localization and a Clinical-Metadata Point Refinement (C-MPR) module for boundary refinement, achieving a Dice improvement of up to 4.96 over existing methods on a dataset of 2,488 MRI volumes. This advancement is significant for practitioners as it provides more reliable anatomical segmentation, improving diagnostic accuracy in clinical settings.
