SCOPE: Sequential Causal Optimization of Process Interventions

SCOPE (Sequential Causal Optimization of Process Interventions) is a new prescriptive process monitoring approach that addresses the sequential dependencies of interventions in business processes. It employs backward induction for intervention impact estimation and utilizes causal learners to directly leverage observational data, avoiding the biases introduced by simulation or data augmentation in traditional reinforcement learning methods. Experimental results demonstrate that SCOPE outperforms existing state-of-the-art techniques in optimizing key performance indicators (KPIs), and it introduces a novel semi-synthetic dataset as a benchmark for future research in sequential prescriptive process monitoring.
