SkillChain: Closing the Loop on Skill Evolution for Image-Based E-Commerce AI Assistants

SkillChain has been introduced as a framework to enhance the performance of image-based AI assistants in e-commerce by automating the lifecycle of Skills through three stages: Skill Creator, Route Optimizer, and Body Refiner. The system leverages dual-path LLM-Judge evaluations to refine Skills iteratively, resulting in substantial improvements in response quality, structural compliance, and content quality, as evidenced by a week-long A/B test that showed increased user engagement and retention. This approach addresses the challenges of handling diverse user intents effectively, making it a significant advancement for practitioners developing LLM-based AI applications in dynamic e-commerce environments.
