Specialize Roles, Mix Deployments: Pushing the Cost-Accuracy Frontier of LLM Agent Teams

The article introduces AgentCARD, a role-aware benchmark suite designed for evaluating LLM agent teams by optimizing task distribution among specialized roles such as planner, executor, and verifier. It incorporates a unified API/self-hosted cost model and enables Pareto-frontier analysis, demonstrating that heterogeneous teams can enhance accuracy by up to 44% compared to homogeneous teams, or achieve similar accuracy at a significantly lower cost through hybrid deployment.
