Gender Differences in AI Literacy Workshop Outcomes and Deepfake Engagement

This study evaluates the impact of an AI literacy workshop on Australian secondary students, revealing significant gender differences in AI literacy and engagement. Male students exhibited higher initial interest in STEM careers, while female students utilized AI tools more for academic purposes and showed greater post-workshop gains in AI knowledge and confidence. The findings emphasize the necessity for gender-responsive AI curricula, particularly in deepfake safety education, to address disparities in STEM aspirations and enhance AI literacy among both genders.
