Automating Geometry-Intensive Compliance Checking in BIM: Graph-Based Semantic Reasoning Framework
The article presents the Spatial-Geometric Reasoning System for Building Information Modeling (SGR-BIM), a graph-driven framework designed to automate compliance checking for geometry-intensive regulations in BIM. By constructing a cross-modal knowledge graph, SGR-BIM effectively aligns user intent with regulatory semantics and BIM geometry, achieving 84.3% accuracy on expert-verified queries from fire safety codes, which is an 8.6% improvement over existing single-agent baselines. This advancement enhances the interpretability and flexibility of compliance workflows in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sector, addressing significant challenges in semantic reasoning and spatial dependencies.
