VitalAgent: A Tool-Augmented Agent for Reactive and Proactive Physiological Monitoring over Wearable Health Data

VitalAgent is a novel tool-augmented framework for wearable health monitoring, designed to enhance both reactive question answering and proactive physiological monitoring over ECG and PPG data. It incorporates a longitudinal physiological memory and a dynamic reasoning interface, achieving over 25% improvement in reactive evaluations compared to existing prompt-based and ReAct baselines. The introduction of VitalBench, a benchmark dataset with 1,862 QA pairs and 90.2 hours of continuous recordings, underscores the significance of long-term monitoring and dynamic tool utilization for practitioners in mHealth applications.
