Cross-Modal Corroboration for Annotation-Free Wildlife Monitoring

The article presents a novel approach for wildlife monitoring that integrates multimodal data analysis without the need for extensive manual annotation. It employs BioCLIP 2 for zero-shot species detection and a fine-tuned acoustic classifier to analyze species vocalizations, validating the system on Milu deer activity patterns. This method enhances conservation efforts by enabling automated monitoring that aligns with documented behavioral priors, thereby reducing reliance on annotated datasets and facilitating scalable wildlife conservation solutions.
