Algorithmic Constitutionalism

The article introduces "algorithmic constitutionalism," a framework designed to address governance challenges posed by AI, particularly in the context of Facebook's content moderation. It proposes a layered architecture with an operative level for direct algorithmic functions and a meta level for safeguarding core principles, alongside mechanisms for algorithmic meta-reasoning and correction through deliberation. This approach aims to mitigate risks associated with AI's influence on social structures and has implications for regulatory frameworks like the European Digital Services Act.
