Beyond Text-to-SQL: An Agentic LLM System for Governed Enterprise Analytics APIs

The article introduces Analytic Agent, an LLM-based system designed to enhance enterprise analytics by translating natural language intents into secure interactions with governed APIs, addressing the limitations of traditional Text-to-SQL approaches. Evaluated on 90 real-world enterprise use cases, the system demonstrates reliable interpretation of user goals, validation of permissions, and execution of compliant queries, thereby ensuring consistency and security in analytics processes. This development is significant for practitioners as it mitigates risks associated with delegating complex logic to LLMs while facilitating easier access to structured data for non-technical users.
