A3C3: AI Algorithm and Accelerator Co-design, Co-search, and Co-generation

The article introduces A3C3, a methodology for the co-design, co-search, and co-generation of AI algorithms and hardware accelerators, aiming to optimize both neural network architectures and their implementations. By jointly parameterizing algorithmic and accelerator design spaces, A3C3 enables the automatic generation of model-accelerator pairs that effectively balance accuracy, latency, throughput, energy efficiency, and hardware utilization, addressing the limitations of traditional AI deployment methods. This approach is crucial for practitioners as it enhances the efficiency of AI systems in increasingly heterogeneous and resource-constrained environments.
